The effect of glaciation on the temperature regime in a sedimentary basin has been estimated. Four modeling cases, representing glaciation with cold (permafrost) glaciers and temperate glaciers as well as non-glaciation, were undertaken. The thermal

Summary Basin modeling, the modeling of physical and chemical processes that cause oil and gas generation in sedimentary basins, is a valuable tool in the search for new reservoirs. It traditionally has been run on minicomputers or mainframes because

Use of non-matching quadrilateral grid cells within reservoir simulation occurs in connection witti local grid refinement and may also occur when modelmg faults. Accurate simulation of multi-phase porous-media flow also requires discretization techni

Abstract The absolute permeability of a core plug may be heterogeneous and anisotropic, e.g., due to small-scale laminae or cross bedding. Standard methods for determination of the two-phase flow functions, capillary pressure and relative permeabilit

The paper describes an approximate method to compute effective relative permeabilities and capillary pressure for 3D heterogeneous porous media. The method is based on the self-consistent approximation, and works in the capillary (quasi-static, low v

Let r_{i} be the covering radius of the (2^{i},i+ 1) Reed-Muller code. It is an open question whether r_{2m+1}=2^{2_{m}}-2m holds for all m . It is known to be true for m=0,1,2 , and here it is shown to be also true for m=3 .

Magleby [6] proved that there can exist at most two adjacencies between a pair of cycles of a pure circulating register. We give a theorem (Theorem 1) for construction of all such pairs of cycles, and our theorem enables us to count them.
