We investigate some aspects and consequences of the extrema bounds for the soft Pomeron intercept, recently determined by means of global fits to $pp$ and $\bar{p}p$ total cross section data at both accelerator and cosmic-ray energy regions (scatteri

Making use of the extrema bounds for the soft pomeron intercept, recently determined by fits to pp and data (from both accelerator and cosmic-ray experiments), we investigate the total cross sections for pion-proton, kaon-proton, gamma-proton and gam

Using Regge theory at Born level and with eikonalized amplitudes we obtain for the pomeron intercept the values 1.104 and 1.122, respectively, from global fits to total cross section and ϱ-value data for p ± p , π ± p and K ± p .

We report in this paper the measurement of the Kerr constant for six mixtures of polar liquids: acetone - quinoline, acetone - isopropyl benzene, acetone - nitromethane, acetone - water, acetone - acetic acid and water - t-butyl alcohol. The Kerr con

By means of an almost model-independent parametrization for the elastic hadron-hadron amplitude, as a function of the energy and the momentum transfer, we obtain good descriptions of the physical quantities that characterize elastic proton-proton and

Based on the behavior of the elastic scattering data, we introduce an almost model-independent parametrization for the imaginary part of the scattering amplitude, with the energy and momentum transfer dependences inferred on empirical basis and selec

We investigate correlations between the total cross section and the slope of the elastic differential cross section for proton-proton and antiproton-proton scattering at the highest energies. Based on the empirical behavior of these quantities as fun

We discuss the evidences for the existence of zeros in the electric and in the hadronic form factors of the proton. We show that the shapes of both form factors are similar, but there is indication that the hadronic form factors can depend on the ene
