We have numerically studied the dynamic correlation functions in thermodynamic equilibrium of two-dimensional O(2)-symmetry models with either bond (RSJ) or site (TDGL) dissipation as a function of temperature T. We find that above the critical tempe

We discuss a number of topics concerning the dynamics of vortices in Josephson junction arrays at zero temperature in the classical regime. Vortices are extended objects, whose dynamics emerges from the solutions of a system of coupled nonlinear diff

We study the response of an array of underdamped classical Josephson functions when the phase configuration contains precisely one vortex. We first simulate the linear response of arrays to a small oscillating current and find, as a function of frequ
We have numerically and analytically studied ac+dc driven Josephson-junction arrays with a single vortex or with a single vortex-antivortex pair present. We find single-vortex steps in the voltage versus current characteristics (I-V) of the array. Th

When a vortex in a two-dimensional Josephson junction array (JJA) is driven by a constant external current it may move as a particle in a viscous medium. Here we study the nature of this viscous motion. We model each junction in a square array by the

The coupled set of evolution equations of the individual resistively shunted junctions in an array is written in a form that directly reveals the existence of a single-junction solution (SJS) for specific values of the external magnetic field. We for

First we introduce a very efficient algorithm for dynamic simulations of a wide class of arrays of Josephson junctions with realistic boundaries. With this algorithm one can also represent current-biased arrays with periodic boundaries. Next we prese

We report experiments and dynamic simulations on the magnetoresistance of ladder arrays of Josephson junctions. The simulations were performed using a very efficient algorithm. The experiments and simulations show the same features and these can be u
