We develop a silicon Gaussian approximation machine learning potential suitable for radiation effects, and use it for the first ab initio simulation of primary damage and evolution of collision cascades. The model reliability is confirmed by good rep

In order to investigate the long-term evolution of radiation-induced defects in the fission- and fusion-relevant material iron, we introduce cascade overlap effects into Object Kinetic Monte Carlo simulations. In addition to cascade overlap, we study

Tungsten is the material of choice for plasma-facing components planned for fusion reactors. The high irradiation doses accumulated over years of operation from its exposure to high-energy fusion neutrons are expected to alter its microstructure and

Characterization of the primary damage is the starting point in describing and predicting the irradiation-induced damage in materials. So far, primary damage has been described by traditional interatomic potentials in molecular dynamics simulations.
