A 6-year-old Hereford embryo donor cow was referred to Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine for a mass in the tip of her left uterine horn. The cow had recently undergone an embryo collection which yielded unfertilized, degenerated ova. T

We are developing an imaging capability (“Hyperspectral X-ray Imaging”) for mapping chemical information (molecular formula, phase, oxidation state, hydration) that is based on ultra-high-resolution X-ray emission spectroscopy with large transiti

We have measured the 3d→2p transition x rays of kaonic ^{3}He and ^{4}He atoms using superconducting transition-edge-sensor microcalorimeters with an energy resolution better than 6 eV (FWHM). We determined the energies to be 6224.5±0.4(stat)±0.2

One of the major challenges in nowadays particle physics and astrophysics is the determination of the absolute neutrino mass scale. A powerful tool to evaluate the effective neutrino mass is the calorimetric measurement of the energy released in a nu

We use narrow spectral lines from the X-ray spectra of various highly charged ions to measure low-energy tail-like deviations from a Gaussian response function in a microcalorimeter X-ray spectrometer with Au absorbers at energies from 650 to 3320 eV
