The monopodial orchid Pelatantheria insectifera is reported here as a new generic record for the state of Andhra Pradesh (India). Further, detailed diagnostic description, colour photo plates for easy identification and note on ecology were provided.

Pancratium venkaiahii is described as a new species from Eastern Ghats of India. It is closely allied to P. st-mariae. A comprehensive description with photo substantiation and comparison table are provided.

An ethnomedicinal survey was carried out among the ethnic people of Khodu, Mali and Gadaba tribals inhabited in Visakhapatnam District, Andhra Pradesh, India. A total of 55 ethnomedicinal plants belonging to 55 genera under 35 families were recorded.

During our field inventories we have collected 172 medicinal plants to treat 131 diseases in the Eastern Ghats of northern Andhra Pradesh. All taxa are given in alphabetical order along with details of plant parts and diseases cured.
