Ferrovolcanism is a hypothetical form of planetary volcanism in which the erupted lava is metallic in composition. Here we show that ferrovolcanic lava is denser and less viscous than silicate lava, resulting in fast-moving, thin, braided flows.

Seismological and geodetic data from modern volcanic systems strongly suggest that magma is transported significant distance (tens of kilometres) in the subsurface away from central volcanic vents. Geological evidence for lateral emplacement preserve

High harmonics of N 2 exhibit a number of features that are related to the electronic structure and sub-femtosecond dynamics of the molecule. Through measurements and simulations, we show how the harmonic spectral shape, spectral phase, alignment ang

Strong field high harmonic generation (HHG) can reveal the quantum structure of the source molecule. We calculate the effect of interference between the recombining photoelectron and the orbital from which it was field ionized in the single-active-el

Nucleobases absorb strongly in the ultraviolet region, leading to molecular excitation into reactive states. The molecules avoid the photoreactions by funnelling the electronic energy into less reactive states on an ultrafast timescale via non-Born-O

Using high harmonic generation (HHG), we probe the nonadiabatic revival structure in the asymmetric top sulfur dioxide. We find that HHG is sensitive to molecular alignment about different axes as well as of partial revivals.

High harmonic spectra show that laser-induced strong field ionization of water has a significant contribution from an inner-valence orbital. Our experiment uses the ratio of ${\mathrm{H}}_{2}\mathrm{O}$ and ${\mathrm{D}}_{2}\mathrm{O}$ high harmonic
