Fiber-based interferometry with entangled photons can provide sub-shot-noise resolution, which is ideal for photon-starved applications. Simulations demonstrate that measurements with realistic losses and other imperfections show quantum-enhanced pha

Laser-Induced Damage in Optical Materials 2018: 50th Anniversary Conference.
Contaminants can severely limit the efficiency, laser damage threshold, and strength of photonic crystal fiber-based lasers. Such contamination can occur due to environmental exposure during the pulling or stacking of rods and tubes or improper handl

Fiber Lasers XV: Technology and Systems.
We present 10W single-mode fiber laser based on Ndp3 fiber operating at 1428nm. All-solid fused silica microstructured waveguide fiber design is employed to suppress amplification at 1μm. The Ndp3 fiber is pumped by commercial multi-mode 880nm diode

Advanced Photonics 2018 (BGPP, IPR, NP, NOMA, Sensors, Networks, SPPCom, SOF).
A large mode area fiber coupler based on multi-core spectrally and modally filtered transfer is presented. Relative coupling to the cross-port above 80% was measured. Only fundamental mode transfer was observed given a multimode launch.
