Narrowing of the 14 keV Mössbauer emission line of 57Fe by filtering

Increased resolution has been achieved by narrowing the emission line of 57Fe. The 14 keV gamma emitted from a 57Co source in a copper matrix has been selectively absorbed yielding a narrowing of 41.6% relative to the source width.
