Arguments are presented that the reaction products of central high energy nuclear collisions up to collider energies can rigorously be interpreted in terms of a continuous decoupling mechanism based on continuous equations of motion. The various aspe

Some considerations about the importance of coherence effects for bremsstrahlung processes in non--equilibrium dense matter (Landau - Pomeranchuk - Migdal - effect) are presented. They are of particular relevance for the application to photon - and d

This exhaustive survey is the result of a four year effort by many leading researchers in the field to produce both a readable introduction and a yardstick for the many upcoming experiments using heavy ion collisions to examine the properties of nucl

The bremsstrahl production of photons in dense matter is reinvestigated using the example of an exactly solvable quantum-mechanical model in one space dimension. Coherence phenomena between successive radiative scatterings among the constituents lead

The question of decoupling and freeze-out is reinvestigated and analysed in terms of transparent semi-classical decoupling formulae, which provide a smooth decoupling in time both, for single and two particle inclusive spectra. They generalise freque

We simulate the first stages of cluster growth in a time-dependent percolation model which unifies nucleation and coagulation processes. Calculated cluster distributions are compared with experimental data and found to be in good agreement.

In this Comment we point out several problems concerning kinematical singularities which are encountered in the calculation of the dilepton rates by Ruppert and Renk [Phys. Rev. C 71, 064903 (2005)]. We also comment on the method introduced by van He

We study the influence of the virtual pion cloud in nuclear matter at finite densities and temperatures on the structure of the rho- and omega-mesons. The in-matter spectral function of the pion is obtained within a selfconsistent scheme of coupled D
