Summary: Human single-stranded DNA binding protein 1 (hSSB1/NABP2/OBFC2B) plays central roles in DNA repair. Here, we show that purified hSSB1 undergoes redox-dependent liquid-liquid phase separation (LLPS) in the presence of single-stranded DNA or R

Human Bloom’s syndrome (BLM) helicase has a role in DNA repair, and BLM deficiency in humans is associated with chromosomal abnormalities. Here the authors employ solution biophysical assays to show BLM maintains a balance for disruption and stabil

Abstract Genome replication is frequently impeded by highly stable DNA secondary structures, including G-quadruplex (G4) DNA, that can hinder the progression of the replication fork. Human WRNIP1 (Werner helicase Interacting Protein 1) associates wit

Significance Cells must rapidly and efficiently react to DNA damage to avoid its harmful consequences. Here we report a molecular mechanism that gives rise to a model of how bacterial cells mobilize DNA repair proteins for timely response to genomic

Bacterial single stranded (ss) DNA-binding proteins (SSB) are essential for the replication and maintenance of the genome. SSBs share a conserved ssDNA-binding domain, a less conserved intrinsically disordered linker (IDL) and a highly conserved C-te

Because of its sensitivity to cold, rosemary was not previously cultivated in Hungary. As a result of the selection work, we have been successful in isolating a frost-resistant selection of rosemary, the cultivation of which is now underway. The comp

The essential oil of Rhodiola rosea L., from rhizomes cultivated in Finland was analyzed by GC and GC/MS methods in Hungary. The air-dried rhizomes contained 0.04% essential oil. Thirteen components which were characterized in the oil were mainly mon
