A Bayesian optimal escape model reveals bird species differ in their capacity to habituate to humans
Publikováno v:
Behavioral Ecology. 32:1064-1074
The capacity to habituate to, or tolerate, the close proximity of humans varies among wildlife species and may mediate population and species viability. Some species readily habituate to human proximity while others remain sensitive. These difference

Predator escape behaviour is a critical component of dragonfly life history. Flight initiation distance is the distance at which escape commences, and is well studied in vertebrates, barely studied...

Escape behaviour is a critical component of invertebrate life history but is poorly studied. Flight initiation distance (FID) indexes escape propensity, and is well-studied in vertebrates but is entirely unstudied in Lepidopterans, despite their obvi

B lymphocytes convert arachidonic acid (AA) to the 5-lipoxygenase products leukotriene B4 (LTB4) and 5-hydroxy-6,8,11,14-eicosatetraenoic acid (5-HETE) when subjected to oxidative stress. 5-HETE has little biological activity, but can be oxidized by
