We report on a successful implementation of a three-dimensional wavelet-based solver for the Poisson equation with Dirichlet boundary conditions, optimized for use in particle-in-cell (PIC) simulations. The solver is based on the operator formulation

We report on a successful implementation of a wavelet-based Poisson solver for use in three-dimensional particle-in-cell simulations. Our method harnesses advantages afforded by the wavelet formulation, such as sparsity of operators and data sets, ex

This note illustrates the possibility in simple loaded string models of trapping most of the system energy in a single degree of freedom for very long times, demonstrating in particular that the robustness of the trapping is enhanced by increasing th

Electric field dynamics at a positive ion imbedded in an electron gas is considered using a semiclassical description. The dependence of the field autocorrelation function on charge number is studied for strong ion-electron coupling via MD simulation

An integral transform is derived which, for a system of stars characterized as a spherical equilibrium solution to the collisionless Boltzmann equation of general relativity, allows the reconstruction of a two-integral distribution function from mome

The dynamics of electrons in the presence of a positive ion is considered for conditions of weak electron-electron couping but strong electron-ion coupling. The equilibrium electron density and electric field time correlation functions are evaluated

First passage time experiments were used to explore the effects of low amplitude noise as a source of accelerated phase space diffusion in two-dimensional Hamiltonian systems, and these effects were then compared with the effects of periodic driving.
