The rhenium(VII) complex [HB(pz) 3 ]ReO 3 is readily reduced by triphenylphosphine in the presence of excess (CH 3 ) 3 SiX (X=Br, Cl) to give the corresponding rhenium(V) complexes [HB(pz) 3 ]ReOX 2 (X=Cl; X=Br, pz=pyrazolyl (C 3 H 3 N 2 )). [HB(pz)

The syntheses of the rhenium(VII) title compounds (pz)ReO3 (1) and [HB(pz)3]ReO3 (2) (pz = pyrazolyl) are described. An X-ray crystallographic study of 2 shows, that it has a monomeric structure.
