Levels in 187W have been studied up to 2.2 MeV with the (d, p) and (n, γ) reactions. The (d, p) studies were performed at deuteron energies of 24 and 28 MeV and at two angles of 30° and 50° by using the high resolution Q3D spectrograph in Munich.

The thermal-neutron-capture gamma rays and γγ-coincidences were measured by means of Ge detectors. Using primary and secondary (n, γ) data, the level scheme of 138 Ba was established with 63 levels up to an excitation energy of 5 MeV. The level en

The nucleus 137 Ba has been studied via primary and secondary γ-rays as well as γγ-coincidences following thermal-neutron capture and inelastic neutron scattering. A level scheme was established up to 4.7 MeV consisting of 37 levels including 91 t

The study of the 137Ba level scheme has been extended in the framework of the interacting boson-fermion model. Two categories of negative-parity states up to excitation energies of 5 MeV were found. One is associated with the h 11 2 hole-type family

The applicability of the method of summed amplitudes of coinciding pulses to determine radiative strength functions of heavy nuclei by measuring two-step cascadeγ-ray spectra is discussed. Experiments based on thermal neutron capture in136Ba and180H

Thermal neutron capture reaction on Ba isotopes have been studied. New levels with negative parity are introduced in odd Ba nuclei. They are interpreted in terms of neutron hole state 1h11/2 coupled with even‐even core.
