Microwave propagation experiments, over a short range, demonstrated that the ratio b=c/v of the light velocity c to the observed one v resulted to be less than unity. The various results are here interpreted and compared with the theoretical predicti

New results are obtained with a modified experimental setup, in order to reduce the residual detected signal when the unmodulated beam is strongly attenuated. In the light of these results, the transfer of modulation, from the modulated beam to the u
The most time-honoured tool for understanding the processes of the human past is represented by archaeological excavation. By examining an area at discrete temporal periods, archaeologists are literally able to look backwards in time: they can analys

Deconvolution based on Fourier transform is routinely used in a variety of numerical processing: one of these is the removal of noise from signals (f.i. image blurring), echoes in longdistance telephone communications, the finite bandwidth of electro

The present work is focused on the study of laser-inducedeffects that can occur in cadmium yellow paint films. To this aim, samples were prepared with different binders (linseed oil and polyvinylalcohol), mixing methods (manual vs. sonication) and pi

This article is devoted to a novel application of the micro-3D modeling based on shape from focus. A 3D portable digital microscope prototype has been used for the first time in order to analyze gold punchwork on medieval panel paintings. In general,
