Hypodysfibrinogenemia and protein C deficiency are coagulopathies and in this report, we describe a young patient with both defects confirmed by molecular genetic tests. The patient was a 24-year-old woman referred for recurrent thrombophlebitis and

Prekallikrein (PK) is one of the clotting factors involved in the contact phase of blood. PK has an important historical role as its deficiency state represents the second instance of a clotting defect without bleeding manifestations, the first one b

Mutations in LMAN1 (ERGIC-53) or MCFD2 cause combined deficiency of factor V and factor VIII (F5F8D). LMAN1 and MCFD2 form a protein complex that functions as a cargo receptor ferrying FV and FVIII from the endoplasmic reticulum to the Golgi. In this

Background: Two procoagulant factors are associated with the tumor cell: tissue factor (TF) and cancer procoagulant (CP). The activation of the coagulation system can cause thrombosis and it has also been involved in the development of metastasis. Ai

Factor V (FV) and factor VIII (FVIII) are two large plasma glycoproteins that function as essential cofactors for the proteolytic activation of prothrombin and factor X, respectively. Efficient biosynthesis of FV and FVIII requires LMAN1 and MCFD2, t
