Although arsenic trioxide (ATO) shows a strong anti-tumor effect in the treatment of acute promyelocytic leukemia, it does not benefit patients with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Thus, combination therapy is proposed to enhance the efficacy of ATO.
