Silicate glasses have evolved from basic structural materials to enabling materials for advanced applications. In this article, we unravel the origin of the mixed alkali effect for alkali silicate 22.7R2O–77.3SiO2 glasses (R = Na and/or K) by ident

The effects of phase separation on the crystallization behavior of glasses were investigated in order to materialize a high-luminous glass-ceramic phosphor, which consists of fine phosphor crystals and a transparent glass matrix prepared due to phase

Glass ceramic phosphors containing fresnoite (Ba2TiSi2O8) were prepared from glasses both within and outside the immiscibility region of the BaO-TiO2-SiO2 system by conventional melt-quenching and subsequent heat treatment. The phosphors showed blue-
