Aus Kurchi-Rinde wurden die Alkaloide 7α-Hydroxy-conessin und Holonamin, C21H27NO2, isoliert. Die Konstitution des 7α-Hydroxy-conessins wird bewiesen und sein genuines Vorkommen wahrscheinlich gemacht.

Fur das Alkaloid Holonamin wird die Struktur eines 11α-Hydroxy-Δ1.4.18(N)-N-desmethyl-conatrien-ons-(3) nachgewiesen. Es entspricht in den Ringen A bis D dem aus Kurchi-Rinde isolierten N-freien Digitenolderivat Holadyson.

The nonionic surfactant Tween 20 was applied intra-peritoneally to NMRI and Swiss mice on day 9 of gestation. It caused embryonic death and malformations of the verte brae, ribs and, in lower frequency, of the limbs.
