We use high-order harmonic spectroscopy to study ionization dynamics in a macroscopic target with tunable density, spanning over six orders of magnitude. In an in situ pump-probe experiment, the target is prepared at different densities with varying

High-order harmonic spectroscopy allows one to extract information on fundamental quantum processes, such as the exit time in the tunneling of an electron through a barrier with attosecond time resolution and molecular structure with angstrom spatial

The propagation of intense picosecond laser pulses in air in the presence of strong nonlinear self-action effects and air ionization is investigated experimentally and numerically. The model used for numerical analysis is based on the nonlinear propa

We demonstrate a dispersion scan (d-scan) pulse characterization scheme employing cross-polarized wave (XPW) generation as a nonlinear optical process. XPW generation is a degenerate four-wave mixing process with no phase-matching limitations. Theref

We present a novel dispersion-scan pulse characterization technique employing cross-polarized wave (XPW) generation as nonlinearity. XPW inherently relaxes phase-matching limitations and hence makes it ideal for characterization of few-cycle pulses i

We report on the direct observation of pulse dynamics along a filament and its connection to directly emitted high-order harmonic radiation, whose nonlinear nature is used to gain further insight into the filamentary propagation dynamics.

We demonstrate a new version of dispersion-scan pulse characterization scheme based on cross-polarized wave generation. We compare the performance of the new device with a SHG FROG by characterizing near-IR pulses of sub-10 fs duration.
