Using the quantum tunneling theory, we investigate the spin-dependent transport properties of the ferromagnetic metal/Schottky barrier/semiconductor heterojunction under the influence of an external electric field. It is shown that increasing the ele

We propose a model for non-ideal monitoring of the state of a coupled quantum dot qubit by a quantum tunnelling device. The non-ideality is modelled using an equivalent measurement circuit. This allows realistically available measurement results to b

Within the ballistic transport picture, we have investigated the spin-polarized transport properties of a ferromagnetic metal/two-dimensional semiconductor (FM/SM) hybrid junction and an FM/FM/SM structure using quantum tunnelling theory. Our calcula

We apply a quantum master equation approach to coupled quantum dot systems that involve inelastic transitions between the dots. The Hamiltonian we use to model the inelastic interaction between electrons and the phonon bath differs from those of othe

We study the quantum dynamics of the emission of multimodal polarized light in light emitting devices (LED) due to spin polarized carriers injection. We present the equations for photon number and carrier numbers, and calculate the polarisation degre

We apply the quantum trajectory method to current noise in resonant tunneling devices. The results from dynamical simulation are compared with those from unconditional master equation approach. We show that the stochastic Schrödinger equation approa

We use a quantum master equation to describe transport in double-dot devices. The coherent dot-to-dot coupling affects the noise spectra strongly. For phonon-assisted tunneling, the calculated current spectra are consistent with those of experiments.

A quantum Markovian master equation is derived to describe the current noise in resonant tunnelling devices. This equation includes both incoherent and coherent quantum tunnelling processes. We show how to obtain the population master equation by adi

A new theoretical approach to current noise in resonant tunnelling is proposed and applied to various resonant tunnelling structures. The results show the noise reduction resulting from the correlation due to the Pauli principle, and are consistent w

We review the description of noise in electronic circuits in terms of electron transport. The Poisson process is used as a unifying principle. In recent years, much attention has been given to current noise in light-emitting diodes and laser diodes.
