The S = 1 2 antiferromagnetic Heisenberg model with the transverse staggered field and uniform magnetic field perpendicular to the staggered field is applied to the semimetallic compound Yb4As3. The field-dependent specific heat for infinite and fini

The magnetic structure and excitation in a localized 5f system U3Pd20Si6 were studied by means of neutron scattering. Our neutron diffraction experiments on a single-domain sample uniquely determined a remarkable collinear structure due to higher-ord

The S = 1/2 antiferromagnetic Heisenberg model with the Dzyaloshinsky-Moriya interaction is applied to Yb 4 As 3 . In this paper we calculate the specific heat of this model, mapped onto the isotropic Heisenberg model with both uniform field B x and

The transport properties of the semimetallic quasi-one-dimensional S=1/2 antiferromagnet Yb4As3 have been studied by performing low-temperature (T≥0.02 K) and high magneticfield (B≤60 T) measurements of the electrical resistivity ρ(T, B). For T

The semimetallic quasi-one-dimensional S= 1 2 antiferromagnet Yb4As3 has been studied by performing low-temperature (T) and high magnetic-field (B) measurements of the specific heat, C(T,B), magnetization, M(T,B), AC-susceptibility, χAC(T,B), and el

Cubic Sm4Bi3 undergoes a first-order transition into a rhombohedral phase at about 260 K. This change has been ascribed to a charge-ordering transition from the thermal valence fluctuating state into a static mixture of di- and trivalent sites. In or

Shubnikov-de Haas (SdH) measurements of the two-dimensional organic conductor (BEDT-TTF)2TIHg(SCN)4 have been performed in order to clarify the Fermi surface. At 0.05 K, in addition to the closed orbit and the magnetic breakdown orbit in the original

Neutron elastic scattering experiments were carried out in order to reveal the crystal and magnetic structures of U3Pd20Si6. The crystal structure is found to be a Cr23C3-type cubic structure which is the same as the rare earth R3Pd20X6(R=rare earth,

Most of the unusual low-T properties of Yb4As3, including a large specific-heat coefficient C(T)/T≃200 mJ/K2mol, result from the one-dimensional S= 1 2 antiferromagnetism caused by the formation of Yb3+ chains below the charge-ordering transition.

From extensive 31 P NMR and 75 As NQR studies on Yb4(As1−xPx)3, both onset of microscopic anomaly in the magnetic properties below about 7 K and decoupling between the magnetic and transport properties also from the viewpoint of low-energy spin dyn
