High purity induction melted bismuth-doped Mg2Si0.5Ge0.5 alloys exhibit a thermodynamic driven phase separation into Mg2Si- and Mg2Ge- rich phases, which is enhanced by the addition of Bi, leading to an impressive ZT of 0.9.
