Abstract A fundamental question in neurodevelopmental biology is how flexibly the nervous system changes during development. To address this, we reconstructed the chemical connectome of dauer, an alternative developmental stage of nematodes with dist

Gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) regulates the reproductive system through the cognate GnRH receptor (GnRHR) in vertebrates. In this study, we cloned a cDNA encoding the full-length open reading frame sequence for green monkey type-II GnRHR (gmG

We have isolated the cDNAs encoding the GnRH1 and GnRH2 precursors, respectively, from bullfrog (Rana catesbeiana) brain. The first cDNA consists of 648 bp and contains an open-reading frame of 270 nucleotides, encoding the bullfrog GnRH1 precursor.

To date nine structural variants of GnRH have been identified in vertebrates and two additional forms have been isolated from a tunicate. In amphibians only mammalian GnRH ([Arg 8 ] GnRH) and type II GnRH (chicken GnRH II, [His 5 , Trp 7 , Tyr 8 ] Gn

In order to understand the mechanism of oocyte maturation in seasonal-breeding wild frogs, we have cloned and sequenced a cDNA encoding Cdc2 kinase, a component of the maturation-promoting factor (MPF) in Rana dybowskii. About 1.2-kb cDNA was isolate

In the present study we determined if NELL2, a neural tissue‐specific protein containing 6 epidermal growth factor (EGF)‐like repeat domains, plays an important role in the regulation of puberty initiation in the rat hypothalamus. We originally f

The present study was undertaken to elucidate the mechanism of nuclear membrane dissolution (NMD) in puromycin-treated mouse oocytes. Treatment of germinal vesicle breakdown (GVBD) oocytes with puromycin (50 micrograms/ml) induced chromosome deconden
