Results for the remaining zones of the Edinburgh-Cape (EC) Blue Object survey are presented. These are incomplete, but lie in that part of the South Galactic Cap between 50° and 90° from the Galactic plane and south of about -12.3° of declination.

We describe the new, fast, high-precision microdensitometer SuperCOSMOS. Some aspects of hardware and software design that enable high-precision astrometry from photographic plates are explained. We show that the positioning repeatability of the meas

A brief summary is given of the basic plan and aims of the Edinburgh-Cape Blue Object Survey. We relate some of the difficulties encountered and progress made during the last few years, including the publication of Zone 1 and the discovery of a new c

We report the discovery of pulsations in two DB stars found in the Edinburgh–Cape blue object survey. The light curve of EC 04207−4748 appears to be dominated by a strong variation at 2235 μHz (447 s) and its first overtone near 4475 μHz (223 s

We report the discovery of very rapid pulsations in two hot subdwarf stars from the Edinburgh-Cape blue object survey. The short periods, small amplitudes and multiperiodicity establish these stars as members of the class of rapidly-pulsating sdB sta

We report the discovery of very rapid pulsations in three sdB stars from the Edinburgh-Cape blue object survey. The short periods, small amplitudes and multi-periodicity clearly establish these stars as members of the EC 14026 class. EC 11583-2708 ha

The UK Schmidt Telescope (UKST) of the Anglo-Australian Observatory completed a narrow-band H-alpha plus [NII] 6548, 6584A survey of the Southern Galactic Plane and Magellanic Clouds in late 2003. The survey, which was the last UKST wide-field photog

We present an investigation of the Abell 14 galaxy cluster, including a discussion of subclustering, some aspects concerning its evolution, as well as an analysis of galaxy orientations in the cluster region. We confirm the previous results showing e
