A new compact low-energy polarimeter has been designed, developed and put into operation, based on the principle of Lamb-shift polarimetry. Here, we focus on ion-beam deceleration (14-35kV to 500V) and the polarimeter's magnetic field. The determinat

A novel emittance meter has been developed to measure the four-dimensional, transverse phase-space distribution of a low-energy ion beam using the pepper-pot technique. A characteristic feature of this instrument is that the pepper-pot plate, which h

We have designed, built and implemented a compact polarimeter for spin-polarized proton and deuteron beams based on the Lamb-shift principle. We briefly describe some design considerations and present first results obtained with this polarimeter. (C)

Intense heavy ion beam production with electron cyclotron resonance (ECR) ion sources is a common requirement for many of the accelerators under construction in Europe and elsewhere. An average increase of about one order of magnitude per decade in t

The design and operation of a Lamb-shift polarimeter is discussed. This polarimeter is used to measure the polarization of proton and deuteron beams extracted from the KVI polarized-ion source. The major components of the Lamb-shift polarimeter (LSP)

In this article, an update will be given of last year's activities to modify the CAPRICE-type ECR ion source into an AECR-type ECR ion source as developed in Berkely, Argonne and Jyvaskyla. Here we will present measurements on the radial and the axia

In this paper a brief description is given of the on‐going upgrade of the CAPRICE‐type ECRIS injector of the K=600 AGOR cyclotron at KVI. This upgrade is motivated by the new TRIμP program, which requires a significant increase of available beam
