We present a photodissociation experiment on ${\mathrm{H}}_{2}^{+}$ with ultrashort laser pulses ( $\ensuremath{\ge}130\mathrm{fs}$) at peak intensities of $\ensuremath{\le}1.5\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}{10}^{14}\mathrm{W}/{\mathrm{cm}}^{2}$.

The uv spectra of ${\mathrm{H}}_{3},$ ${\mathrm{D}}_{2}\mathrm{H},$ and ${\mathrm{D}}_{3}$ emitted by a neutralized ion beam have been measured in the wavelength range 200\char21{}400 nm. The spectra are continuous and show two maxima at 240 and 310

Spectral simulation was used to analyze the molecular rovibrational bands of D2H and H2D at 5600 Angstrom. These bands were previously measured by the ion beam neutralization method. They were assigned to the electronic 3p(2)B(1) -2s(2)A(1) and vibra

We investigate the dissociation dynamics of molecules exposed to intense laser fields that induce electronic Rabi frequencies comparable to the frequency of nuclear vibration. A fast, mass selected beam of the simply structured model molecule ${\math

Measurements and calculations of the absolute carrier-envelope-phase (CEP) effects in the photodissociation of the simplest molecule, H2(+), with a 4.5-fs Ti:sapphire laser pulse at intensities up to (4±2)×10(14) W/cm2 are presented. Localization o

We have studied the interaction between intense laser fields (⩽ 7 × 10 12 W/cm 2 ) and molecules. For the diatomic molecular ion Ar + 2 the number of photofragments as a function of laser intensity can be quantitatively explained in terms of light

A beam of molecular ions (${\mathrm{ArH}}^{+}$, ${\mathrm{ArD}}^{+}$, or ${\mathrm{D}}_{3}^{+}$) was neutralized by passage through an excited cesium vapor; two single-mode diode lasers were used to populate the 6 $^{2}$${\mathit{P}}_{3/2}$ state of

In an ion beam experiment the Coulomb explosion of H2 + and D2 + in intense laser fields was investigated. The kinetic energy spectra of the fragments H+ and D+ show strong structure at laser intensities close to the threshold. They can be interprete

UV spectra of ArH and ArD can be observed after neutralizing an ionic beam of ArH+ and ArD+, respectively, in Cs vapor. The spectra are continuous and range in wavelength from 200 to 450 nm. Earlier lifetime measurements suggested that at least the E

We present results of lifetime measurements of rotational substates of the E 2Π state in the Rydberg molecules 40ArH and 40ArD. We find reasonable agreement between our result and theoretical predictions in the case of ArH. However, for ArD we obtai
