Equilibrium between Al atoms, trimethylaluminum (TMA), and an Al–TMA complex has been observed over the temperature range 341–396 K at 50 Torr total pressure. Rate constants for the forward reaction are reported from 296 to 396 K. A van't Hoff pl

Rate constants as a function of temperature for the reaction Al + SF6 have been measured under pseudo-first-order conditions. Laser-induced fluorescence was used to monitor the relative concentrations of either the reactant Al or the primary product

The secondary dissociation dynamics of the methylsulfonyl radical following the photodissociation near 193 nm of methylsulfonyl chloride and methylsulfonyl ethanol has been studied using femtosecond mass-resolved photoionization spectroscopy. The pri

Optical switching dynamics and fatigue were investigated for a photochromic molecular switch, bis(5-pyridyl-2-methylthien-3-yl)perfluorocyclopentene (PMTFC). Femtosecond transient absorption was measured using 270 nm pump and broadband visible probe

The initial decomposition products of 1,3,3-trinitroazetidine (TNAZ) are characterized using time-of-flight mass spectrometry. To induce thermal decomposition, solid samples of TNAZ are irradiated with 248 nm laser pulses. Products released to the ga

The reactions OH + CHF 3 → products and O ( 3 P ) + CHF 3 → OH + CF 3 were studied in the temperature range 500–750 K and the pressure range 20–160 Torr using laser-induced-fluorescence detection of OH. For the reaction, OH + CHF 3 , the expe

We have re-examined the kinetics of the reaction of OH with CF 3 CH 2 CF 3 (FC 236fa) between 281 and 337 K using highly purified reactant. After accounting for the contribution to the measured rate of all measured impurities, we derive a room temper
