Summary: Overexpression of Cyclin E1 perturbs DNA replication, resulting in DNA lesions and genomic instability. Consequently, Cyclin E1-overexpressing cancer cells increasingly rely on DNA repair, including RAD52-mediated break-induced replication d

Sister chromatid exchanges (SCEs) are considered to be products of homologous recombination repair. The authors show that SCEs can arise independently of homologous recombination due to processing of replication intermediates during mitosis.

The large difference in the fractionation of stable carbon isotopes between C3 and C4 plants is widely used in vegetation reconstructions, where the predominance of C3 plants suggests wetter and that of C4 plants drier conditions. The stable carbon i

Summary: Joint DNA molecules are natural byproducts of DNA replication and repair. Persistent joint molecules give rise to ultrafine DNA bridges (UFBs) in mitosis, compromising sister chromatid separation. The DNA translocase PICH (ERCC6L) has a cent

Replication fork degradation can result in genome instability. Here authors reveal a role for Rif1 protein in protecting stalled replication forks from undergoing extensive, DNA2-dependent, degradation.

Background: Among persons with type 1 diabetes mellitus (T1DM) low concentrations of magnesium have been reported. Previous (small) studies also suggested a relation of hypomagnesemia with (poor) glycaemic control and complications. We aimed to inves
