BACKGROUND: Mooren's ulcer is a rare, severe corneal autoimmune inflammation leading to blindness if treated insufficiently. High-dose systemic cyclosporin A (Sandimmun optoral) was shown to markedly reduce inflammation and stop corneal destruction.
