Highlights • 320 Argentinian Fasciola hepatica were genotyped using a panel of microsatellites. • Overall there was high genotypic richness: 263 distinct genotypes were identified. • Population structuring of F. hepatica

The fascioliasis is an important zoonotic disease, particularly in underdeveloped countries. In fascioliasis, the anthelmintic control has been done mainly by the use of triclabendazole (TCBZ), which is metabolized into the anti-helmintic metabolite,

The use of Triclabendazole for controlling fasciolosis is compromised by increased drug resistance affecting livestock and humans. Although the mode of action of TCBZ is still unknown, putative candidates and markers of resistance have been advanced.

Background Fasciola hepatica is the main agent of fasciolosis, a zoonotic disease affecting livestock worldwide, and an emerging food-borne disease in humans. Even when effective treatments are available, drugs are costly and can result in tolerance,

In the last years, the encryption of system structure information with different network topological indices has been a very active field of research. In the present study, we assembled for the first time a complex network using data obtained from th
Lambs infected with the Cullompton isolate of Fasciola hepatica were treated orally or subcutaneously with 10 mg/kg of closantel at 16 weeks post-infection. Adult flukes were recovered from the liver of individual animals at 12 h, 24 h, or 36 h post-
