In this paper, the behavior of TEC at three stations located in the Arctic and Antarctic sectors during some intense geomagnetic storms in the period 2012–2016 is analyzed. The results show the opposite storm effects in the Arctic and Antarctic reg

Neutral gas composition data (molecular nitrogen N2, atomic oxygen O and argon Ar) from the Dynamic Explorer 2 satellite, and critical frequency of F2-layer obtained with ionosondes, are used to examine the response of the ionosphere-thermosphere sys

Se analizan las perturbaciones ionosféricas que se presentan en las crestas de la anomalía ecuatorial durante algunas tormentas geomagnéticas, con el objeto de verificar el patrón de comportamiento esperado. Se encuentra que la densidad electrón

This paper studies the response of the ionospheric parameters critical frequency (foF2), their height (hmF2), and Total Electron Content (TEC) at mid, low, and near-equatorial latitudes of the South American sector during the intense geomagnetic stor

The low magnetic field in the South Atlantic Anomaly (SAA) zone facilitates the entrance of high-energy particles from the magnetosphere. When particles that are drifting in closed orbits around the Earth reach the SAA zone, they can be quasi-trapped

In this paper, the critical frequency of F2 layer (foF2) and their peak height (hmF2) recorded at equatorial and low latitude stations of the South American sector were analyzed during the 19–22 December 2015 geomagnetic storm period. We have obser
