Optical properties of β-BBO nonlinear crystal in the THz range are studied. Frequency conversion of the femtosecond Ti:Sapphire laser complex operating at 950 nm into 0.25 – 0.8 THz range at room temperature is presented in detail.

Absorption and refractive indices spectra for nonlinear potassium titanyl arsenate (KTA) crystal are measured by THz time-domain spectrometer (THz-TDS) at 12 discrete temperatures in the range of 5 – 300 K with the accuracy of ±2 K and presented.
