The purpose of the present study was to determine the possible role of cholinergic mechanisms in the anticonflict effects of the anxiolytic diazepam. Male Sprague-Dawley rats were tested with a modified Geller-Seifter procedure using a multiple reinf
A study was performed to evaluate fault detection effectiveness as applied to gear tooth pitting fatigue damage. Vibration and oil-debris monitoring (ODM) data were gathered from 24 sets of spur pinion and face gears run during a previous endurance e

6th International Power Transmission and Gearing Conference: Advancing Power Transmission Into the 21st Century.
The use of face gears in helicopter transmissions was explored. A light-weight, split torque transmission design utilizing face gears was described. Face-gear design and geometry were investigated. Topics included tooth generation, limiting inner and

Three groups (n = 6) of male Sprague-Dawley rats were trained to barpress for food reinforcement on a fixed ratio-40 schedule. Each group then received one of three doses of haloperidol (0.125, 0.25, or 0.5 mg/kg, i.p.) according to the following tre

The present series of experiments found that high volumes of a glucose-saccharin solution consumed by rats prior to testing (i.e., a preload) produced a small, but significant suppression of established schedule-induced drinking (Experiment 2). This

In Experiment 1, the dopamine blockers pimozide (0.5 and 1.0 mg/kg) and spiperone (0.062 and 0.125 mg/kg) suppressed the acquisition of schedule-induced drinking (a form of nonhomeostatic drinking) in rats over a 15-day chronic dosing regimen. In Exp
