Abstract Vesicularity of individual pyroclasts from airfall tephra deposits is an important parameter that is commonly measured at basaltic volcanoes. Conventional methods used to determine pyroclast vesicularity on a large number of clasts has the p

The size and shape of rice grains influence their yield and commercial value. We investigated the role of OsDA1, a rice homolog of the Arabidopsis DA1 gene, in regulating grain size and shape. OsDA1 was highly expressed in young spikelets and glumes.

Grain weight and grain shape are important traits that determine rice grain yield and quality. Mining more quantitative trait loci (QTLs) that control grain weight and shape will help to further improve the molecular regulatory network of rice grain

The eIF6 proteins are distributed extensively in eukaryotes and play diverse and essential roles. The bona fide eIF6 protein in Arabidopsis, At-eIF6;1, is essential for embryogenesis. However, the role of eIF6 proteins in rice growth and development

Abstract Zircon shape is commonly reported during geochronology and geochemistry analyses of igneous, metamorphic, and sedimentary rocks, but the relationship of zircon shape to primary growth environmental conditions remains poorly constrained. Curr

Abstract Background Grain shape is a key trait in rice breeding. Although many QTLs and genes of grain shape have been identified, how different combinations of alleles of these genes affect grain shape is largely unknown. It is important to understa
