Using a target of PbF2, the thick-target yield from the (19)F(α,n) reaction was measured from E(α)=3.5-10 MeV. From these results, we infer the thick-target neutron yields from targets of F2 and UF6 over this same alpha-particle energy range.

The neutron spectra transmitted across a fission-suppressed hybrid blanket and its components, driven by a low intensity 14 MeV Haefely neutron generator, were measured with a 2″×2″ NE213 detector at LOTUS facility. These experiments have been a

Measurements of the near-equilibrium energy spectra of the delayed neutrons associated with fast-neutron-induced fissions of 232Th, 233U, 235U, 238U, and 239Pu are reported over the energy range fr...

The decay scheme of Be7 has been reinvestigated. Known numbers of Be7 nuclei were produced in targets via the Li7(p, n) reaction. Following activation, the yields of 478-keV γ rays from the targets were measured. From three such measurements, perfor

A simplified but approximate method for the calculation of nuclear heating is described. Results using this method are compared with those of more rigorous calculations. The computational effort required is significantly reduced, and an accuracy gene

A new approach (Iterative Differentiation Unfolding) to the differentiation unfolding of neutron spectra from proton-recoil pulse height distributions has been developed. It now allows the differentiation method to correct for any distortions that ca

The use of frequency filters to improve the statistical quality of proton-recoil data is described. Numerical simulation and theoretical analysis of the variance and bias of the filtered data are in good agreement and demonstrate the effectiveness of

The near-equilibrium energy spectrum of the delayed neutrons from the fast neutron-induced fission of /sup 240/Pu has been measured over the energy range from 40 to 1500 keV. The spectrum is somewhat similar in shape to near-equilibrium spectra previ
