Abstract Changes are projected for the boreal biome with complex and variable effects on forest vegetation including drought‐induced tree mortality and forest loss. With soil and atmospheric conditions governing drought intensity, specific drivers

The Taiga Plains ecozone in northwestern Canada is warming rapidly which alters the carbon dioxide (CO2) fluxes of the boreal peat landscape in two ways: 1) directly by increasing temperatures going along with increasing fluxes and 2) indirectly via

Tundra snowpack properties are highly heterogenous over a variety of spatial scales and evolve over the course of the winter. Variations in snowpack properties such as snow density and microstructure control the transfer of heat through the snowpack.
