Understanding how development changes the genetic covariance of complex phenotypes is fundamental for the study of evolution. If the genetic covariance changes dramatically during postnatal ontogeny, one cannot infer confidently evolutionary response

Rodents of the family Echimyidae present a wide variety of life histories and ecomorphological adaptations. This study evaluated morphological integration patterns, modularity, and evolutionary flexibility in six Echimyid genera representing ecomorph

We present an open source package for performing evolutionary quantitative genetics analyses in the R environment for statistical computing. Evolutionary theory shows that evolution depends critically on the available variation in a given population.

Selective regimes favouring the evolution of functional specialization probably affect covariation among phenotypic traits. Phalanges of most tetrapods develop from a conserved module that constrains their relative proportions. In geckos, however, bi

We report the results of a terrestrial small mammal survey at one National Park in the northeastern Brazil, in the state of Pernambuco. The Catimbau National Park is located within the Caatinga domain with the characteristic thorn scrub vegetation. O

Comparisons of covariance patterns are becoming more common as interest in the evolution of relationships between traits and in the evolutionary phenotypic diversification of clades have grown. We present parallel analyses of covariance matrix simila

The prevalence of stasis on paleontological and comparative data has been classically taken as evidence of the strong role of stabilizing selection in shaping morphological evolution. When confronted against biologically informed predictions, empiric

The magnitude of morphological integration is a major aspect of multivariate evolution, providing a simple measure of the intensity of association between morphological traits. Studies concerned with morphological integration usually translate phenot
