The 16 O + 12 C elastic cross section at 300 MeV has been measured over a wide angular range, displaying the shoulder of a nuclear rainbow. The optical model analysis was done using a microscopic potential as well as phenomenological real potentials.

A generalized double-folding model for elastic and inelastic nucleus–nucleus scattering is presented. It is designed to accommodate effective nucleon–nucleon (NN) interactions that depend upon the density of nuclear matter in which the two nucleo

A critical review is given of the features of 12 C + 12 C elastic scattering at low energies (Ecm ⩽ 37.5 MeV) which may be ascribed to a mean field, or optical potential, and how this field matches smoothly on to optical model descriptions of the s

Measurement of elastic {sup 16}O+{sup 12}C scattering at E{sub lab}=132 MeV has been performed over the angular range 6{degree}{lt}{Theta}{sub c.m.}{lt}125{degree}, which covers both the diffractive and refractive regions. A prominent minimum has bee

A generalized version of density dependence has been introduced into the M3Y effective nucleon-nucleon $(\mathrm{NN})$ interaction that was based on the $G$-matrix elements of the Paris $\mathrm{NN}$ potential. The density dependent parameters have b

Analyses of recent measurements of the scattering of alpha particles by ${}^{58}$Ni at energies of 129 and 240 MeV have indicated that only about a third of the sum rule limit for isoscalar monopole transitions was found in the giant resonance region

The Krell–Ericson transformation provides a local potential that is exactly equivalent to the nonlocal Kisslinger-type potential. The associated scattering wave functions are related by a Perey factor. We examine the properties of examples of these

We describe the application of a realistic self-consistent theory of finite Fermi systems to the ground and low excited states of the 90,92,94,96 Zr isotopes. Results were obtained for the ground, 2 1 + and 3 1 − states in each nucleus, and for the

We give a comparative review of the use of the deformed potential and folded potential models for the analysis of data from the inelastic scattering of heavy ions and alpha particles. Representative cases are studied. It is shown that use of the defo

The elastic 11 Li, 11 C+ 12 C scattering at E A ∼- 60 MeV has been studied using a semimicroscopic version of the optical model. The real optical potential was calculated within the double-folding model using a realistic nucleon-nucleon effective i
