Borate glasses of the system xNd2O3-(1-x) La2O3-SrCO3-10H3BO3 (with x = 0 and 0.05) were prepared by using a convectional melt quenching technique. The amorphous nature of the quenched glasses has been confirmed by powder X-ray diffraction analysis.
