Abstract The coherent transduction of information between microwave and optical domains is a fundamental building block for future quantum networks. A promising way to bridge these widely different frequencies is using high-frequency nanomechanical r

Higher order synchronization in optomechanical devices is relatively unexplored. Here the authors use nonlinear parametric effects to entrain an optomechanical oscillator with a drive signal several octaves away from the oscillation frequency, and de

Photothermal effects have been pointed out as prominent sources of forces in optomechanical systems, competing with the standard radiation pressure interactions. In this article, we derive a novel and accurate model for the prediction of photothermal

We present and validate a novel route to directly probe the dissipative optomechanical coupling in a balanced homodyne detection scheme. The ratio between dissipative and dispersive coupling is determined as G κ e / G ω ≈ − 0.007 ± 0.001 .

We show how the dynamic thermo-optic effect can be used to enhance the optomechanical transduction. As an example, we compare thermo-optic effects in silicon on oxide against silicon on diamond devices.

Despite the several novel features arising from the dissipative optomechanical coupling, such effect remains vastly unexplored due to the lack of a simple formalism that captures non-Hermiticity in the engineering of optomechanical systems. In this L

We propose and numerically validate a modified perturbation theory that captures non-Hermitian features present in dissipative optomechanical systems. Our theory predicts different behaviors than commonly used perturbation theories derived assuming p
