Luminescent ZnIn2S4 NCs with PLQYs up to 11% have been isolated by a simple route involving metal xanthates co-thermolysis. Also, size dependent PL emission, optical band gap properties and carrier life time measurements of these NCs are presented.

Cu1.8S nanostructures, obtained through thermolysis of a new SSP, serve as an efficient anode material for LIBs. Suitable morphology, unique structural features are the crucial factors contributing to the good electrochemical performance of Cu1.8S.

In2Se3 and InSe nanostructures prepared from a new precursor [In{Sepy(Me-4)}3] were used as anode materials in LIBs. The fabricated cell exhibited promising cyclability with high specific capacity and reversible Li ion uptake.

Quantum confined ultrathin nanosheets of In2S3 were synthesized from a new structurally characterized molecular precursor. The prototype photoelectrochemical cell based on the material exhibited high photostability and photoresponsivity.

Phase pure Cu1.8Se and Ag2Se nanostructures were synthesized employing novel single source molecular precursors at relatively low temperature. These materials exhibit good photoresponsivity and stability under alternating light and dark conditions.

Cu2GeS3 nanostructures were successfully synthesized at mild conditions via the co-thermolysis of Cu and Ge isopropylxanthates. Photoelectrochemical cell based on this material exhibited photovoltaic activity with high photostability.
