A quantitative model of growth and metabolism of CH0-K1 cell culture in a serum-free medium is presented. The model is validated using five batch experiments with varying glucose and glutamine initial concentrations.

Chinese Hamster Ovary (CHO) cells are one of the most widely used hosts for the production of complex recombinant glycoproteins. However, because there are differences between the glycosylation patterns of rodent and human tissues, CHO cells should b

In this work, we show that the growth of CHO cells and the production of recombinant human interferon-γ (INF-γ) in a serum-free medium are significantly better in presence of a rice protein hydrolysate.

CHO cells are widely used for recombinant protein production. CHO-320 cells have been genetically modified to produce human gamma interferon (hu IFN-γ). If serum free cultivation increases production biosafety, secreted proteins are nowhere exposed

A strong tendency is currently emerging to remove not only serum but also any product of animal origin from animal cell culture media during production of recombinant proteins. This should facilitate downstream processing and improve biosafety. One w
