Deployment of quantum technology in space provides opportunities for new types of precision tests of gravity. On the other hand, the operational demands of such technology can make previously unimportant effects practically relevant. We describe a no

Free-space ground-to-ground links will be an integral part of future quantum communication networks. The implementation of free-space and fiber links in daylight inter-modal configurations are however still hard to achieve, due to the impact of atmos

We describe a novel low-error and calibration-free polarization encoder for Quantum Key Distribution, called iPOGNAC. The device, together with the Qubit4Sync synchronization, has been used to realize a resource-effective QKD field-trial in Padua, It

Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) relies on quantum communication to allow distant parties to share a secure cryptographic key. Widespread adoption of QKD in current telecommunication networks will require the development of simple, low cost and stable

The future envisaged global-scale quantum-communication network will comprise various nodes interconnected via optical fibers or free-space channels, depending on the link distance. The free-space segment of such a network should guarantee certain ke
