Experiments show that when magma heats black shale wall-rock, fluids form and mobilize S and Cu, which can then concentrate and form base metal deposits. The fluids also attach to sulphide droplets and cause them to float in the host silicate melt.

Clinopyroxene-only thermobarometry is one of the most practical tools to reconstruct crystallization pressures and temperatures of clinopyroxenes. Because it does not require any information of coexisting silicate melt or other co-crystallized minera

Magma mixing is a widespread magmagenic process. However, its significance in the formation of ultrapotassic magmas has been largely overlooked so far as they are commonly thought to originate directly from the mantle and ascend rapidly through the c

Hydrostatic pressure exerted by the ocean water column fundamentally influences magmatic and hydrothermal processes in submarine volcanic settings and is therefore an important parameter to know when investigating such processes. Currently, there are

The understanding of the geochemical and petrophysical evolution of magmas forming intermediate calc-alkaline batholiths at shallow crustal levels critically depends on knowledge of the phase equilibria relations along the liquid line of descent. Her
