Both (S)-(−)- and (R)-(+)-enantiomers of omeprazole were directly resolved by inclusion complexation with a chiral host compound (S)-(−)- or (R)-(+)-2,2′-dihydroxy-1,1′-binaphthyl in high enantiomeric excess (>99% e.e.).
