Using the loop transfer recovery (LTR) method to recover the linear quadratic Gaussian (LQG) robustness properties is a well-established procedure, as well as augmenting the system with integrators at the plant input to deal with steady-state error.

We study a fault detection problem in the context of Markovian Jump Linear Systems (MJLS). The major contribution of this paper is the design of a mode-dependent mixed H ∞ / H − Fault Detection Filter (FDF) under the MJLS formulation, which is ob

One of the main applications of a mechanical control moment gyroscope (CMG) as actuator is the attitude control of spacecraft and satellites, which requires a wide operating range. Motivated by this, this paper investigates the feasibility of a Lyapu

Control moment gyroscopes (CMG) are widely used as actuators for attitude control of satellites and spacecraft, which requires the controller to fulfill the tracking task of a CMG in a wide operating range, despite its highly coupled nonlinear behavi

This paper presents a new approach for quasi linear parameter-varying (LPV) modeling and state-feedback control of a class of nonlinear systems. In terms of modeling, it is proposed as contribution a Taylor series expansion of arbitrary degree, givin

This paper presents a robust nonlinear control design for a control moment gyroscope (CMG) in its single-input/single-output (SISO) configuration. The CMG unit, model 750 from Educational Control Products, is described, as well as its SISO dynamics.

It is proposed a nonlinear controller based on sliding mode control (SMC) to accomplish the tracking problem of a control moment gyroscope (CMG). This is a challenging task for practical implementation since it is an underactuated mechanical system a
