El Solanum bonariense L., es un arbusto perenne, autóctono en Uruguay, Argentina y sur de Brasil. Al ser ingerido por los bovinos en pastoreo, les ocasiona una degeneración cortical cerebelosa, afectando específicamente a las células de Purkinje.
