We report a facile electrochemical route for the one-step fabrication of ZnO nanowire (NW) arrays. The method is seed-layer-free, and the NWs are directly attached to a fluorine-doped tin oxide (FTO) substrate. The effects of growth temperature, prec

852-nm emitting Al-free laser diodes and layers constituting the device are irradiated with 1-MeV electrons at fluences ranging from 1014 up to 1016e-/cm2. Layers corresponding to the laser diodes materials were characterised using photoluminescence

We have step-irradiated Al-free laser diodes with 1 MeV electrons at fluences from 10 14 up to 10 16 electrons/cm 2 . We measure at each step their L-I and I-V characteristics to evaluate the impact of irradiation on optical and electrical properties

In this letter, we demonstrate the design, fabrication, and characterization of single-mode distributed feedback (DFB) lasers emitting at 852 nm for atomic clocks and spatial applications. The epitaxial structure comprises an aluminium-free active re

We have developed 852 nm laser structures, using an aluminium free active region. For an AR/HR coated ridge device, we have obtained an optical power of 320 mW in a single spatial mode with the beam quality parameter M/sup 2/=1.5.

We have developed single frequency and single spatial mode laser structures with high optical power, using an aluminium free active region, which are to our knowledge the first demonstration for Cs pumping at 852 nm.
